Mary: For as long as I can remember, teaching wasn’t just a profession—it was my calling. When I became a teacher, I loved working with my students, but I felt a pull to make an even greater impact. That led me to earn my master’s degree and step into a leadership role as a principal.

 

While that season was incredibly rewarding, it also came with the challenge of balancing a demanding career with being a mom to my girls, Georgia and Eve. I explored new paths, including direct sales, where I developed a deep love for building relationships and running a business. But I still longed for something that would allow me to serve at a high level while creating flexibility for my family.

When real estate entered my life, everything clicked.

 

I began my journey on my own, and soon after, Marlo joined me. Together, we built something rooted in purpose. For us, real estate is more than buying and selling homes—it’s a vehicle to create positive change in our community.

 

We host annual food drives, organize clothing donations for foster children, and create opportunities to bring neighbors together. Giving back is not an afterthought—it’s built into everything we do. Through our partnership with By Grace Alone, we are helping fund and build schools in the Dominican Republic, providing children access to education and opportunities they would not otherwise have.

My heart has always been—and continues to be—using this business to make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

 

Marlo: My journey to real estate was a long time coming. For 10 years, I worked in the mortgage industry, managing teams and leading initiatives in change management and product development. While I gained invaluable experience, the role became all-consuming. Long hours turned into constant stress, and I found myself missing out on time with the people who mattered most.

Eventually, I reached a breaking point.

 

Walking away wasn’t easy—but it was necessary. In a symbolic moment of reclaiming my life, I gathered close friends and neighbors and burned my work backpack. It marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of something far more aligned with who I am.

Real estate gave me the opportunity to take control of my future, build something meaningful, and do it alongside one of my closest friends.

Today, my “why” is even deeper.

 

After my mom was diagnosed with HER 2+ breast cancer, it reshaped my perspective on life, family, and purpose. In response, I now give a portion of every commission to support breast cancer research—using this business as a way to give back in a deeply personal way.

 

I continue to be passionate about giving to causes close to my heart and advocating for animals, while also embracing my most important role—being a mom. Our family recently welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Blaire Bennett, who has truly become the sunshine of our lives. Alongside her big sisters, Blayke and Brynn, our home is full, joyful, and constantly reminding me what matters most.

 

We are inspired by the idea of being change-makers and community builders. Real estate is simply the platform that allows us to live that out.
