Our unique journeys have brought us together, forming the perfect team with a shared passion for relationships and exceptional service. We offer a dynamic blend of experiences, education and skills to ensure we make a lasting impact in our clients' lives and within our community.
Mary: For as long as I can remember, teaching was not just a profession to me; it was my calling. When I finally became a teacher, I loved working with the kids, but I wanted my impact to reach beyond my classroom. Driven by this desire for a broader impact, I earned my master's degree and became a principal. The role was very rewarding but also incredibly challenging as I tried to balance work with being a mother to two children, Georgia and Eve.
Eventually, I decided to explore new avenues, including direct sales. It was an unexpected twist in my career path, but it taught me valuable skills in building relationships and running a business. However, I still longed for a career that was flexible for my family while still giving me the opportunity to make a broader impact in my community.
One day, my husband asked me, “Why don’t you get your real estate license?” It was hard to let go of education, but I saw incredible potential to make an impact through real estate. Initially, I started on my own before having my great friend, Marlo, join me in creating a team. For us, real estate is about more than selling houses; we use real estate as a vehicle to impart positive change in our community. We run annual food drives, clothing donations for foster kids, neighborhood yard sales, and so much more.
This new chapter is more than just a career change; it has transformed my life, allowing me to serve a community that holds a special place in my heart. Through Live Again Ministries, I authored a curriculum called TRIBE, a free afterschool program for at-risk middle and high schoolers. My ultimate goal is to use real estate to continue supporting these initiatives in our community and create lasting change!
Marlo: It had been a long time coming, but finally, I was ready to embrace my true passion. For 10 years, I worked for a mortgage company, managing a team in change management, product development and product rollout. My job grew increasingly demanding, devolving into a never-ending source of stress as I spent nearly all my time working. It began to interfere with my personal life as I had little time for friends and family. Finally, I reached my breaking point.
Once I made the decision, there was no going back. I quit my job and gathered my close friends and neighbors, to burn my work backpack. It wasn't just about leaving a job; it was about reclaiming my life and my happiness. As one chapter went up in flames, I eagerly embraced a new one in real estate.
I decided to take control of my destiny and finally pursue my passion for real estate to create a better future for myself and my family. Life will always be a balancing act, but entering real estate with the support of Mary makes me confident this will be an incredible new chapter.
In addition to real estate, I have always been passionate about connecting with my community, which led me to start a neighborhood podcast in January of 2022. "Morning with Marlo” is my platform to combine my fun-loving, creative personality while interviewing local business owners and keeping my neighbors informed on community happenings.
As I have continued to reshape my life, I was inspired to start Beans’ Buddies, a nonprofit that funds end-of-life care and services for animals. This was started in honor of my dog, Beans, that passed away in March of 2023. After the loss, it motivated us to adopt a sweet golden doodle, we lovingly named “Rice” (like Beans & Rice), as well as open our home to fostering dogs, bringing our total dog count to 4.
My love for real estate, my community and philanthropy is what drives me to be the best version of myself every day, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
